As a five-year-old I felt curious when I saw foreign places on television, it inspired me to explore everything the world had to offer. I remember listening to my parents talk about a trip to Los Cabos (a beautiful city in Mexico), never knowing it would be the best vacation of my life and that I’d get to experience several new things. I got to ride an airplane for the first time which we had all to ourselves but when we landed we were all starving. The first thing we did was order a pizza that actually tasted like rotten milk, it made us lose our appetite.I went to the balcony to check out what my parents kept staring at and the view mesmerized me. I could see the blue, shiny body of water never meeting an end.

I dragged my dad downstairs to the beach and as I approached the ocean I felt it go through my toes. The current was so strong I thought the Pacific would swallow me so I stayed on the sand for most of the time. Later that day, we got on a small boat that took us to see “El Arco”( a 200-foot-tall rock that sticks out of the ocean and gets many visits each year). On our way there, my brother and I watched a crab climb up a rock for the longest time. The poor creature fell into the water and we called him Mr. Krabs referring to the same one from Sponge Bob.

After watching the unique structure of El Arco, my mom took me painting. I painted a palm tree on a plate and I remember it so vividly because it still sits on my living room table. Although this trip happened about eleven years ago, it’s still the most fun I’ve ever had and there’s no replacement for it. Times were easier, times were colorful, and this memory will always be kept as my happy place.
