Isaiah Deal (1995 – 2014)
When asked to think about Isaiah Deal, the words that are most likely to come to anyone’s mind are “athletic”, “outgoing”, “loving”, and “risk-taker”. Isaiah Deal, the sibling to Joshua Deal and I, loved his family, friends, and sports more than anything in the world. His smile lit up a room and his personality outshined the stars.
His athletic abilities sprouted from a young age for he always loved being active. Isaiah soon fell in love with football and weight training. First attending Montwood High School for the first two years of high school, Isaiah then transferred to Americas High School to finish off his remaining high school career. At Americas, Isaiah became an all-star football player, acquiring the name “Big Deal” – not just for his size, but for his great heart.
Isaiah passed away alongside his brother on Christmas Eve in 2014 due to a drunk driver colliding with their car. Tragedy struck the entire town for Isaiah was a major component to the heart of the city.
Isaiah’s athletic abilities continuously shape me into the person I aspire to be. Sports and working out kept our bond strong and I shall ensure in keeping that bond alive. In honor of his amazing life and actions on the field, I wear his football number 53 on my back too whenever I play softball. As I continue on in life working out and staying active, I know that Isaiah looks down on me from heaven hopefully filled with proudness and honor.
I love you, big brother ❤
