Not As Clean As You Think

Picking something up as small as one bottle, one plastic bag, or one wrapper can escalate to make a difference.

In 2016 the American Lung Association ranked El Paso as the twentieth most polluted metropolitan area for particle pollution. To make matters worse, the city was also the sixteenth most ozone polluted metro area in the country! Particle pollution can be very dangerous to the lungs due to its components: dust, smoke, and smog.

In 1899, Henry H. Rogers and Leonard Lewisohn founded Asarco which brought several diseases to people surrounding the area. The Centers for Disease Control found that more than half of the children living within a mile of the factory had high levels of lead in their blood.

Lets not repeat history by bringing back the historical bookmark that damaged the many civilians in our city.
