Dear Mom and Dad,
I’m writing this letter to thank you for going through all the hard situations without giving up. I know growing up in poverty didn’t make it easy to go to school, but you still managed to pick yourselves up to learn. For you two to build the courage to come into the United States not knowing anyone, not knowing what to expect, will always be something both of you should be proud of. Never thinking about how stressful it must of all been before I was born makes me feel like I’m not grateful enough.
Even now that I try to reach perfection, you always tell me I make you proud regardless of the size of my accomplishments. I grew up in an environment where everything could just be giving to me because both of you made it that way. There’s nothing like the love I receive from you, it’s irreplaceable. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Your favorite daughter
